A NEW YEAR A NEW LOOK
As we enter 2009 the band are looking forward to purchasing new instruments and a new uniform and most of all the chance to ditch them stupid hats!!
We predict 2009 to be a successfull year for the band as we have various invitations to Parades, Functions and Events all over the British Isles. We have gained extra members and welcome back past members of the band which also helps. The parade season starts in April and the Band are looking forward to getting back on the road after a long winter break which has felt like an eternity, we will be taking part in all Orange Order parades in Liverpool and various Loyalist Band Parades and Loyalist Social Events.
PART OF THE CULTURE
As Liverpool celebrated its Capital of Culture Year we took part in the Liverpool 08 celebrations by walking on 2 Grand Lodge Capital Of Culture Parades through the city centre also the band played at the Liverpool Provincial Club in an open air band concert that was held on Saturday 19th July 2008 throughout the day with an Orange Order Memorabilia Exhibition running in the Orange Hall. The year was topped off by the Annual Saundies Christmas party which has seemed to snowball (no pun intended) into the main event of the year where members of the band can bring their children and families to come along and see the band play, enjoy the buffet, dance at the disco and come and see Santa and his many friends.
BRIXHAM
31st October see's Saundies once again taking to the streets of Brixham, the coach is leaving the Provy on the Friday night for the 6 hour hike down to the southwest of the country. The Band have attended this parade for the last 6 years and look forward to this occasion with bated breath each year.
